Lately, I’ve been lurking about the weird world of Filipino music. Filipino Rock music to be more precise. A search on YouTube will bring up a bunch of interconnected bands. I’ve already mentioned WolfGang , a band with a lot of Metallica flavours in its music.  My favorite Filipino band so far is Bamboo, a bunch of musical heavy’s that can play practically any style of music they set their minds to.  By mentioning Bamboo, I should naturally lead into one of the more popular acts out there: Rivermaya.  Bamboo Manalac used to sing for these guys before he decided to front his aforementioned band Bamboo.  Rivermaya has a very New Wave feel to it.  Their sound is a bit more mellow than Bamboo but they can rock out when they want to.  Their main strength is the love song and they have a ton of them.  Check them out when you need to earn back the heart of your ladyfriend…
